Pillars of Service

These are the main components of my platform for your consideration.

Experience: Defense of our contract during the coming budget crunch.

Our school board faces significnant financial pressures in the coming two years. We are already seeing impacts with the implementation of the attendance management program. With inevitable budget cuts threatening all programs and staffing across our board, protecting our contract through effective labor relations and strategic grievance action will be paramount. As President, I will leverage my extensive experience and proven expertise to defend what you’ve worked hard to build. My track record demonstrates a deep understanding of each worksite’s unique circumstances, allowing me to advocate effectively for all members. While the challenges ahead are significant, I stand as the candidate who is uniquely qualified to navigate these difficult times. I promise to deliver the strong leadership our D14 requires.

Results: Worker Safety as core duty.

During my four years as Vice-President, I’ve championed member protection through many initiatives, delivering concrete results at every worksite—from streamlined leave procedures to a completely revamped safety plan information system. As your President, I will build upon these results while confronting the critical connection between unsafe working conditions and the board’s focus on attendance management. Members of our union being away from work stem directly from workplace stress and psycho-social hazards within our working conditions. Worker safety isn’t just one priority—it’s the foundation that supports every aspect of our work and contract. My proven track record demonstrates my unwavering commitment to protecting members, and as President, I won’t simply maintain these efforts—I’ll expand them to ensure every teacher works in an environment where both their professional contributions and personal wellbeing are valued and protected.

Ready: Building towards Bargaining, 2026.

For four years, I’ve stood on the front lines representing our bargaining unit in high-stakes arenas—from addressing the Director directly, to advocating through labour management and pursuing grievances for both policy issues and individual member concerns. My greatest strength, however, lies in the bargaining process. Beyond integrating health and safety provisions into contract language between bargaining windows, I’ve served as a district bargainer where we secured tangible wins: revised supervision duties, expanded safety shoe allowances, and critical protections for destreamed classrooms. As we approach 2026 negotiations amid growing pressures on staffing and budgets, my extensive experience positions me to seamlessly transition into the President’s role at this crucial juncture. I’ve developed a comprehensive strategy to maximize Provincial OSSTF funding for our district to build our capacity, ensuring every action we take—whether through political advocacy, member engagement, or committee work—strategically advances our bargaining positions. With contract negotiations on the horizon, my proven track record of delivering results makes me uniquely qualified to lead. I’m prepared for the challenges ahead, ready to be your voice at the table, and committed to serving as your next President of d14 TBU.
