Surprise! It’s a before work post!
Today I get to go on an adventure. As part of my duties as a OSSTF member, I am currently serving as chair of the Provincial H&S committee, also know as HSWSIAC (best acronym ever). It’s through that committee I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know so many Presidents, union advocates and build credibility in Provincial spaces. This is the end of my term, where I have been regularly attending these meetings in the past 4 years. It’s been quite a journey but what excites me the most is that some of the best pracitices I’ve established in KPR have been transfered and expanded to the surrounding regions. Strategies I’ve learned from folks have been implemented here successfully. That’s how collaborative leadership is supposed to work! Today’s meeting is in Niagara, and extends until Saturday afternoon. So some weekend work for me!
This morning’s video is from PACE. Much like CCIS and NCIS, a region only functions as well as the support given to the alternative pathway. The staff at PACE offer so much to help those students who need unique offerings to be successful. As President, I commit to bargaining for proper class sizes and workload management in these spaces – the work is different but it’s not the wild west! I am so pleased to have the endorsement of Kelly Simms here at PACE, and have appreciated coming to support PACE staff anytime I am called. I am here for you.
Stay tuned for video #2 when I get to Niagara this afternoon! Have a great weekend. See you next week for the campaign wrap up – including a visit to the board office!!
Take care,
Chris
